Congregation Beth Yeshurun in Houston, Texas, commissioned a Torah to be written for the synagogue. This Torah, however, was to be written for the synagogue by its congregants.

It's more than an honor to be involved in the writing of the sacred scrolls of the Torah manuscript, it's actually a law according to Talmudic writings. The project was a success and the Torah, scribed over a two-year period is now read at worship services on a daily basis.

The Renewing the Promise project was a remarkable endeavor. It binds the congregation together for they created something that will live on from generation to generation.
